Profile of Lana Adeleye-Olusae

Lana’s passion is empowering others to reach for the next higher level and inspiring their voice through coaching, training, facilitating and human resource consulting services. He has significant experience in Canada and four African countries in financial service, manufacturing and not-for-profit industries. He specializes in personal coaching, strategic team management, financial management, and business planning and project management. He has a proven ability in developing and implementing strategic directions for business units, start-ups and projects.

Lana is an experienced management trainer and coach who established and nurtured a training firm focused on organizing training and development programs. As a human resource professional with well over 20 years’ cognate experience, his passion is offering learning, training and development, and employee relations solutions to organizations. He used his creative and innovative approach as a strategic financial planner to achieve significant growth in the investment portfolio he managed. As an administrator, he is skilled in development of workflow systems that reduce response time, increase productivity and ensure financial stability. He was responsible for initiating and managing changes responsible for raising production and sales of a manufacturing plant. Lana is a researcher and writer on issues dealing with organizational and professional practice assessment, compensation and benefits, and terms or conditions of employment. He is a goal-oriented entrepreneur and team manager.


Accomplishments

Lana was Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations’ National Professional Practice Assessment (NPPA) Provincial Top-Scorer in Manitoba in May 2007 when he obtained his Certified Human Resource Practitioner (CHRP) designation.

Lana co-designed and delivered many training seminars/workshops and conferences that attracted about 8,000 participants in four countries (Nigeria, Togo, Ghana, and Cote D’Ivoire) over a five-year period. This led to leadership and management skills improvement and raised the awareness of the need to train staff and volunteers in the non-profit organisation. As head of a turn-around management team, he helped in revamping the operations and administrative processes in manufacturing and service firms. As head of a diversification team for a financial service corporation, Lana negotiated the purchase of an insurance corporation and set-up of an insurance brokerage firm. This led to increased profitability and cross-selling opportunities that increased customer satisfaction and retention. Lana conducted a survey of the operations of a regional bank and submitted a strategic plan that assisted the bank in becoming a national bank.
In addition, Lana has developed various human resource policies and manuals covering many issues including staff appraisal, transfer, placement and in-service training and development. Lana distinguished himself in conducting job analysis, developing reporting structure, and implementing cost control measures in an administrative department.


Education

Lana has the benefit of international education and development in Nigeria, Singapore and Canada. He completed his Doctor of Ministry Program at Providence Theological Seminary, Otterburne, Canada. He attended two of the best and widely acclaimed universities in Nigeria. He earned a Bachelor of Agriculture (Hons) Degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. He completed his M.B.A. (Financial Management & Accounting) and Post-Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria. He attended courses on leadership under Haggai Institute U.S.A. in Singapore. He studied management and human resources at the University of Winnipeg. He obtained M.A. Theology in Church Administration from Evangel Theological Seminary, Jos, Nigeria. Lana has qualified for the final stage of his Certified Management Consultant Designation Program with Canadian Association of Management Consultants. In addition, he has participated in various workshops covering many issues including strategic planning, project management, disability management, psychologically healthy workplace, coaching for development, curriculum development and interpersonal conflict resolution conducted by various organizations and institutions.

Lana is a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants, Human Resources Management Association of Manitoba, Project Management Institute, and International Coach Federation.

Community Leadership

Lana has served and is serving in the community in various capacities. He has served as Vice-President of the Nigerian Association of Manitoba Inc. (NAMI); Chair, Entrepreneurship Development Committee of the African Communities of Manitoba Inc.; Chair, People of African Heritage (PAH) Business Committee (Nigerian Association of Manitoba Inc.); and Chair, Newcomers’ Resource Directory for Africans in Manitoba (African Communities of Manitoba Inc.).

He is currently serving as Council Member, Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Manitoba; Chair, Employment and Professional Development Committee, African Communities of Manitoba Inc.; Chair, Professional Development Committee of Nigerians In Diaspora Organization (NIDO), Manitoba Chapter; and Champion, Community-run Employment Organization Initiative under African, Black, and Caribbean Communities’ Initiative, Manitoba.


Ministerial Credentials

Lana is a Christian minister with ordained ministerial credentials from The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Nigeria.


Lana’s Family

Lana is married to Alero and they have two girls (Dami and Tomi) and a son (Demi).
